Deskripsi
Mao et al. report highly sensitive quantification of carbon monoxide with a simple colorimetric assay, exploiting a synthetic supramolecular compound, hemoCD1. It can reveal distribution of CO in organs including the brain and can also serve as a CO scavenger for residual CO accumulated in organs. Finally, the authors showed circulating hemoglobin plays a protective role in CO intoxication.
