Deskripsi

Neuroepithelial cyst is an intracranial cyst consisting of cuboidal epithelium of neuroectodermal origin, and can be further classified as ependymal cyst or choroid plexus cyst. We report a 71-year-old man with left cerebellopontine angle cysts causing hearing impairment. Fenestration of the cysts did not improve his hearing. The cysts were composed of cuboidal epithelium and connective tissue, containing a nodule of glial cells. Although this case was consistent with neuroepithelial cyst, its histological features could not be further characterized as ependymal or choroid plexus cyst. This case suggests the need for a more organized classification of neuroepithelial cyst.
