A new point matching technique as a viable and effective treatment option for coverage of root surface exposed by visible gingival recession was designed while avoiding the complications and complaints often associated with traditional grafting procedures. A patient with 3.5 mm of visible gingival recession of Miller class I, 4.0 mm of gingival height and 2.0 mm of probing depth was treated by the point matching technique. At the end of one year, 100% root coverage, 5.0 mm of gingival height and 1.0 mm of probing depth were obtained. Thus, point matching technique is a viable and effective treatment option for root coverage exposed by visible gingival recession. The long term and more close follow-up appointments with clinical and histological studies will be required to obtained more information about point matching technique for root coverage exposed by visible gingival recession.
