Deskripsi

This work presents the development of an integrative neutralization volumetry experiment using an alternative indicator (purple cabbage extract) developed during the final paperwork of two undergraduate chemistry students based on the steps of the integrative experimental approach. Based on the concepts of case study, this paper presents the integrative approach steps based on the use of alternative indicators in laboratory practices. The pre-laboratory stage consists in prior research and procedures established in the study; in the laboratory phase were obtained the data related to the use of the alternative indicator; and the post-laboratory step consisted in comparison with the commercial indicator data to solve the proposed problem. From the experimental protocols, it was possible to notice that the extract of purple cabbage has turning points with defined staining that coincide with those of commercial indicators, showing the possibility of use in neutralization volumetry practices. In addition, it can be seen that the integrative approach is capable of signifying content in a way that makes the academic protagonists in the construction of knowledge.
