The objective of this study was isolate bacteria from rhizosphere of lettuce and the characterization of antagonism against phytopathogenic fungus, production of auxin and phosphatases also analyzed the correlation of these parameters and growth promotion of lettuce. Biochemical analysis were conducted in a laboratory experiment and growth promotion of lettuce in a greenhouse with forty isolated from the rhizosphere of lettuce. In the present conditions, the antagonism to fungi in different bacterial isolates from the rhizosphere was considered important for use in breeding programs for promoting growth rhizobacteria in lettuce.
