Deskripsi
The study identifies and analyzes the binding interactions existing in the childcare system of children with or without chronic malnutrition in the same context of poverty. This is a multi-method study, based on the field information collected and on a theoretical construction that arose from the results obtained, broadening thus the conceptual framework of child malnutrition. The constellation and management of care are two emerging categories that contribute to understanding the fact that there are different care-givers in the different scenarios where the children are that vary in terms of quality, permanence and coherence and this situation has an impact on their nutritional condition. Although women are the main care-givers, they are not the only people responsible for childcare; therefore, it is recommendable for the family and community support networks to be strengthened.
