Deskripsi
Melanomas are malignant neoplasms caused by the transformation of melanocytes. Metastases in the digestive system can occur in 10% of cases. The case of a 70 years old male patient, with a history of hypertension and a regular treatment with enalapril, who works as a merchant seaman with much sun exposure is presented. In 2009 he was diagnosed with skin melanoma and received combined treatment of surgery and chemotherapy and posterior follow-up in oncology and dermatology consultations. He remained in stable condition. He attended consultation due to a clinical presentation of epigastralgia with marked acidity that did not get relieved with the administration of omeprazole, a medication that the patient had been using to self-medicate. Cutaneous melanoma was found with stomach metastasis.
