Middle facet coalitions of the subtalar joint are the second most common tarsal coalitions behind calcaneonavicular coalitions. Although symptoms may subside following immobilisation, the resection of the coalition should be considered in those patients who remain symptomatic and because resection may restore subtalar joint movement. In this report, we describe the surgical resection of a middle facet coalition in a 14-year old female patient who had not responded to conservative care.
