Exciting technological innovations in structural biology, including cryoEM single-particle analysis and AI-based protein structure prediction, such as AlphaFold 2, have largely revolutionized the field. The next decade promises great progress in understanding the critical roles of membrane transporters in health and disease and in the applications of novel drug design and development.
