'Waste' Fe III /Cr III hydroxide, generated from the treatment of Cr VI in fertiliser industry effluent, was used as an adsorbent for the removal of toxic ions such as AsIII, Hg II , Cr III and PO 4 3– , and dyes such as Rhodamine-B and Procion Orange M2R, from aqueous solutions. The removal was efficient except for Procion Orange.
