Deskripsi

MicroRNAs (miRNAs), short non-coding RNAs that repress gene expression [1], have recently emerged as important regulators of synaptic transmission and plasticity in the central nervous system [2]. This suggests an important role of this gene silencing mechanism in brain function both in health and disease states [3]. We previously reported a novel function of disease-associated miR-27b in promoting presynaptic assembly [4]. To further understand the role of this miRNA in the brain, we knocked down miR-27b in mouse cortical neurons and studied the impact of this perturbation on the transcriptome (GSE73275).
