Deskripsi

Fundamentally constructivist, Anthropology itself (supposing, but “dato non concesso”, that such a substantial singularity exists) is no less the “fact” of one culture to the exclusion, in the last analysis, of all others.  However, seemingly a product but basically a process, though born and bred in the West, there is nothing to prevent anthropology from reinventing its identity.  Hence the emergence in the Catholic University of Louvain, of a Prospective Anthropology whose committed and at times indignant intentionality makes for freedom. Culture abhorring it as much if not more than Nature, the vacuum left by the demise of liberation theology subsequent to the Death of God himself, could be filled by an anthropo-logical equivalent.
