Deskripsi
This paper provided a mechanism of torque ripple reduction by flux barriers using field-unit type wound field motors as the subject. The field-unit type wound field motor proposed in the previous study had high torque density, but there was the problem in torque ripple characteristic. In this study, the flux barriers, which realized both maintaining average torque and reducing torque ripple, were designed using the topology optimization. Moreover, the reduction mechanism by the flux barriers were numerically analyzed based on the Maxwell stress tensor equation. The validity of the numerical verification was clarified through the experimental verification using prototype motors.
