Kitaev materials are prime candidates to study quantum spin liquids but despite many known examples it is still a challenge to realize systems that have a total absence of magnetic ordering. Here, the authors propose Floquet engineering and the use of light-matter interactions to achieve a Kitaev quantum spin liquid phase.
