An approach to achieve and directly measure enhancement of the thermal emission in far-field is lacking. Here, a thermometry platform was devised to extract the thermal emissivity from anisotropic nanoribbons of polar dielectrics, allowing direct quantification of the emissivity from a single nanoscale object.
