Research of antibodies anti-Brucella abortus e anti-Brucella canis in dogs domiciled in dairy farms in the medium-north region of Mato Grosso

Canine brucellosis is an cronic infectocontagious disease, of zoonotic character, mainly caused by the bacteria Brucella abortus and Brucella canis. It is characterized, mainly, by abortions and infertility in females and orchitis and epididymitis in males. The objective of this study was to investigate the occurrence of brucellosis caused by B. abortus and B. canis in domestic dogs from rural areas in the north-central region of Mato Grosso and the associated risk factors during the period of November 2017 and January (AAT) techniques for the diagnosis of B. abortus and Immunodiffusion in agar gel (IDGA) for B. canis were analyzed. The prevalence of B. canis was 4.34% (2/46). No samples were positive for B. abortus.
