Deskripsi
Our culture, since the 19th century is based on the positivist myth of science. The origins of sport and superheroes can be found there. Growing throughout the 20th and 21th centuries, both sport and superheroes have become social facts. Both can be seen everywhere nowadays. We question their interactions and especially how they can be a place to criticize body norms. In that purpose, we first show how superheroes have been influenced by the sport’s world. Secondly, we establish how superheroes universes are changing the sports world and how they can be a place to contest the sporty body. Then, we will see how some sports and some sportsmen try to emancipate themselves from the norms and laws of sport through the superheroes’ model. To conclude, we ask if this demonstration shouldn’t be enlarged to focus on the effect of the image on our society. Is it changing our social values? Is the superhero a symbol of that change?
