An immunological investigation of denal caries was carried out to detect antibodies in human serum and saliva against streptococcus mutans, in relation with the formation of caries. The level of serum and salivary IgG, IgA & IgM antibodies was determined by an indirect enzyme linked immunosobent assay (ELISA), using formalinized whole bacterial cells as the antigen
