Over 160 years, in thousands of pages that combine testimony, research, speculation and fiction, the memory of King Pedro V has been fabricated, in a still ongoing process. This article is a diachronic collection of that bibliographical corpus, with the purpose of analyzing the emotional, sexual and gender dimensions that are present in it, in a more or less explicit way. This itinerary is an exercise in the history of History. It aims, on the one hand, to critically systematize the documentation, trying to synthesize the respective contexts of production. On the other hand, it hopes to get from the synthesis the data that allows an analysis of the mental and cultural frameworks in which themes such as marriage, conjugality, sexuality, masculinity and femininity have been evoked and debated along the way. As well as the emotional repertoires that have been mediating these perceptions.
