In modern conditions of forestry development there is a need for constant evaluation of the effectiveness of the management system. This is due to the fact that forestry enterprises are business entities whose activities are aimed at the use, storage and increase of strategic natural resources of Ukraine. The purpose of the article is to investigate the mechanism of formation of analytical support for the management of forestry enterprises. In the course of the research it was established that economic analysis is a special functional economic science, which manifests itself as a set of new knowledge both at the level of scientific research and at the level of practice of its tools. It is established that the information resources obtained as a result of analytical tools are transformed into a system of special knowledge, which determines the development trends of economic systems of different levels. The article defines that economic analysis as a science and practical activity can be considered from several aspects: economic analysis as a system of generating new special knowledge, the results of which determine the trends of economic science; economic analysis is a system of generating the main resource of the post-industrial information economy; economic analysis is a means of making effective management decisions in a dynamic environment and fierce competition. economic analysis allows you to identify areas of enterprise development to ensure sustainable development of the enterprise in conditions of uncertainty.
