Antenatal care in rural population has been studied extensively in India. There is lack of data showing current awareness of weight gain during pregnancy in rural population of Solapur, Maharashtra, India. But the awareness about healthy weight gain during pregnancy in pregnant women is lacking. There is no study which has quantified the awareness about the same in pregnant women. Hence this study was planned to determine and assess the existing knowledge of healthy weight gain during pregnancy in the rural pregnant women. The study shows that only 16.55% of the subjects were aware of the healthy weight gain during pregnancy.
