Deskripsi
Thinking space in Sociology. IntroductionThe contributions presented here were collected following a symposium entitled "Thinking space in Sociology", held in Tours in 2014. Noting that the thought of space in sociology is neither marginal nor secondary nor purely metaphorical, we want to give an overview of its vitality. Three articles claim an epistemological and methodological approach: the first one explores a "pragmatic of space and the common interest", another examines the relationship between space and mobility, the third shows how the space is important for analysing the life course. Two other articles highlight the interest of anchoring social analysis in space, with the cases of the popular centrality of Roubaix, and of the ancient inhabitants of the slums of Nanterre and Champigny-sur-Marne. The last three reminder that space is a constraint and a resource for interactions through the analysis of how space is organised for visitors in the places of art, of the relationship between sexuality and prison space and of how social movements and deliberative places are exposed.
