Samiha Ayverdi is a writer who had important contribution in Turkish literature producing thirty six works. Ayverdi, during her lifetime witnessed Balkan war, Tripoli war, World War, War of Independence Westernization process was experienced in all its intensity in theperiod. Liberation War broke out after the Republican era which brought about westernization process with all its means and modes which were put into expression in theliterary works of the Turkish society which was characterized by a turbulent process. All these things are reflected in Ayverdi's works . She saw herself as belonging to The Lost Generation and the last offspring of an empire from which Turkey came to be formed, In many works of hers, the Ottoman Empire's glorious days of longing were reflected. On the one hand the Westernization process which began to exist as a movement bringing about cultural corruption and was a subject of discomfort looks large in her works. In Ibrahim Efendi Mansion, semi memories in the style was written in, Ayverdi's childhood on the sections that hosts the old Istanbul plotting everyday life in all its details that contains the artifact. In this work, Old Istanbul' s cultural life have been reflectedin details.
