Fabrication of aqueous stable CH3NH3PbBr3 perovskite: Addressing optoelectronics and fluorescent sensing applications

Herein, we reported the synthesis of CH3NH3PbBr3 (MAPbBr3) nanoparticles at room temperature via co-precipitation approach, followed by fabricating TiO2 @MAPbBr3 nanocomposites using a solvothermal method. The synthesized nanoparticles and nanocomposites were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy for morphological analysis, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and X-rays diffraction analysis for elemental and crystal structure analysis. The optoelectronic properties of MAPbBr3 and TiO2 @MAPbBr3 were investigated through UV-Visible and Photoluminescence spectroscopy. The as-synthesized TiO2 @MAPbBr3 nanocomposites exhibit enhanced stability against water for even after 27 days. Furthermore, MAPbBr3 is also used as a fluorescent probe for selective and sensitive detection of Cd2+ ions in dimethylformamide.
