&lt;p class="resumenyabstract" align="justify"&gt;El objetivo del estudio es el de profundizar en el conocimiento del comportamiento de la FC de los futbolistas profesionales en competici&amp;oacute;n, identificando los criterios m&amp;aacute;s relevantes que definen el contexto de la situaci&amp;oacute;n de juego donde el jugador profesional presenta un incremento acusado, en sus valores de frecuencia cardiaca en competici&amp;oacute;n, elaborando un perfil definitorio del tipo de situaci&amp;oacute;n de juego asociado a una alta carga fisiol&amp;oacute;gica. Para alcanzar los objetivos mencionados se ha recurrido a una metodolog&amp;iacute;a mixta, en la que se complementa la utilizaci&amp;oacute;n de la metodolog&amp;iacute;a observacional con una metodolog&amp;iacute;a selectiva. Para el an&amp;aacute;lisis de datos se retuvieron un total de 153 casos, correspondientes a un total de 6 jugadores profesionales pertenecientes a la primera plantilla del&amp;nbsp; R.C. Celta de Vigo, equipo clasificado para disputar la Champion League en la temporada 2003/04. Los resultados parecen indicar que son tres los criterios que permiten disponer de un modelo con una alta capacidad explicativa de m&amp;aacute;s del 80% de la varianza del comportamiento de la FC, medido por los incrementos acusados y las disminuciones en sus valores: centro de juego, rol, y oposici&amp;oacute;n, especialmente el primero de ellos resulta clave a la hora de poder explicarlo o predecirlo. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Palabras Clave: &lt;/strong&gt;f&amp;uacute;tbol, frecuencia cardiaca, situaci&amp;oacute;n de juego, centro de juego.&lt;/p&gt;<br>&lt;p class="resumenyabstract" align="justify"&gt;The aim of the study is of going more deeply into the knowledge of the behaviour of the HR of the professional football players into competition, identifying the most relevant criteria that define the context of the game situation where the professional players presents a marked increase in his values of HR in competition, elaborating a distinctive profile of the type of game situation associated with a high physiological load. To reach the mentioned aims it has resorted to a mixed methodology, in which the utilization of the methodology observational in complemented with a selective methodology. For the analysis of information there were retained a whole of 153 cases, correspondents to a whole of 6 professional players belonging to the first team of the R.C. Celta de Vigo, classified to dispute the Champions League in the season 2003/04. The results seem to indicate that they are three criteria that they allow arrange of a model with a high explanatory capacity of more than 80% of the variance of the behaviour of the HR, measured by the marked increases and the decreases in the values: centre of game, role and opposition, specially the first of them turns out to be key at the moment of being able to explain or predict it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Key Words:&lt;/strong&gt; soccer, heart rate, game situation, centre of game.&lt;/p&gt;
