This article analyses Ginés de Pasamonte as a character from the literary tradition that Cervantes naturalized to his fictional world, more than a parody or criticism on a real figure or a literary genre. In the craft of Ginés, Cervantes applied a skeptical perspective, a peculiar aspect of his writing, which is not necessarily against picaresque, but a literary device to entertain the reader through two comic concepts, the paradox and the irony.
