The objective of the present paper is to introduce one of the most fundamental theories of rhetoric and literary criticism, Jorjani's theory of verse. To achieve this objective in this paper, the author has dealt with the following: 1- coherence and unity of language and poetry 2- nullification of the notion of dichotomy of form and meaning 3- comparing the viewpoints Jorjani with those of new critics like A.A. Richards 4- Coleridge's theory of language application, and comparing it with the theory of verse.
