In the title compound, C10H12N2O2, the dihedral angle between the mean planes of the aromatic ring and the side chain (r.m.s. deviation = 0.035 Å) is 18.23 (13)°. In the crystal, molecules are linked by N—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating C(4) amide chains propagating in [010].
