The Xukuru ancestors of the Ororubá, Fulni-ô and Wassú, as well as those of other indigenous peoples in the Northeast, participated in the Paraguayan War. This text proposes to discuss the history and the indigenous memories about the Paraguayan War, located in the current debates about that conflict, aiming to contribute to a better knowledge of the indigenous history in the contemporary Northeast.
