An Investigation of Student's Satisfaction With Distance Education Programs at Ho Chi Minh City Open University

The objective of this study is to investigate student satisfaction with distance education programs at HCM City Open University. Using descriptive analyses and Kruskal-Wallis non-parameter tests with data from 361 students interviewd, the investigation shows that most of the students expressed their satisfaction with content and structure of the programs, content and quantity of offered courses as well as enthusiastic dedication, capacity and teaching methods of tutors. However, the students are unlikely to be satisfied with updating websites and releasing examination results. Students in law-economics major exhibit higher satisfaction levels than the ones in other majors. Male students are likely to be more satisfied with the programs relative to the females. The study also explores that students in sociology major seem to have the highest capacity levels in self-learning while the ones in accounting and finance majors are the most Internet users for self education.
