The dispersion of gaseous pollutants in urban areas can be determined with field experiments, wind tunnel investigations and numerical simulations. The numerical modeling of flow fields and of the dispersion of concentration in complex built-up areas has several advantages in comparison with the other methods: The information is available on the entire area, the results are promptly available, variations concerning housebuilding can be considered and low costs. A set of programs that consists of three components is introduced: Calculation of the flow fields, the turbulence structure and the simulation of diffusion processes. It can manage urban and industrial areas of any size.
