<p>El presente artículo refl exiona sobre una de las obras cumbres del pensamiento feminista: El segundo sexo. Los hechos y los mitos (Vol. I), así como sobre algunos de sus principales supuestos y aportes a la contemporaneidad. El recorrido a realizar abarca desde su concepción de la alteridad, la crítica a la biología, el psicoanálisis y el materialismo; la evolución histórica de las mujeres hasta la interconexión con el presente siglo. Sus páginas cuestionan, develan y denuncian con exquisita maestría el papel asignado a las mujeres en la sociedad, y con ello, la infl uencia de los valores culturales en la “construcción” de lo femenino. Sus luces han posibilitado un salto cualitativo en el análisis, visión y perspectivas en el estudio y comprensión ética y política de las mujeres, como también de su camino hacia la liberación.</p><p> </p><p><br />Abstract<br />This research focuses on one of the fi nest works of feminist thought, The second sex. Facts and myths (Vol. I), as well as some of its key assumptions and inputs to the contemporary. The tour begins from conception of otherness, the critique to the biology, psychoanalysis, materialism and the historical evolution of women up to the connection with the present century. Its pages question, reveal, denounce, with exquisite skill, the role assigned to the women in society, and thus, the infl uence of cultural values in the “construction” of the feminine. Their influence enabled a quantum leap in the analysis, insight and perspective in the study and understanding of female ethics and politics, as well as its path to liberation.</p>
