Deskripsi
The analysis of <inline-formula><math display="inline"><semantics><mi>γ</mi></semantics></math></inline-formula>-ray spectra can be an arduous task, especially in the case of room temperature semiconductor detectors, where several distortions and instrumental artifacts conceal the true spectral shape. We developed a genetic algorithm to perform the unfolding of <inline-formula><math display="inline"><semantics><mi>γ</mi></semantics></math></inline-formula>-spectra in order to restore the true energy distribution of the incoming radiation. We successfully validated our approach on experimental spectra of four radionuclides (<inline-formula><math display="inline"><semantics><msup><mrow></mrow><mn>241</mn></msup></semantics></math></inline-formula>Am, <inline-formula><math display="inline"><semantics><msup><mrow></mrow><mn>57</mn></msup></semantics></math></inline-formula>Co, <inline-formula><math display="inline"><semantics><msup><mrow></mrow><mn>137</mn></msup></semantics></math></inline-formula>Cs and <inline-formula><math display="inline"><semantics><msup><mrow></mrow><mn>133</mn></msup></semantics></math></inline-formula>Ba) acquired with two <inline-formula><math display="inline"><semantics><mi>CdZnTe</mi></semantics></math></inline-formula>-based detectors with different contact geometries (single pixel and drift strip). The unfolded spectra consist of <inline-formula><math display="inline"><semantics><mi>δ</mi></semantics></math></inline-formula>-like peaks in correspondence with the radiation emissions of each radioisotope.
