This paper aims to offer a new approach to the aspectual category of states based on Catalan data extracted from corpus. The goal is twofold: firstly, to point out that states constitute a gradual category; and secondly, to highlight that syntactic variability within the stative predicates category receives a more understandable and clear explanation if the different possibilities of situation conceptualization are taken into account.
