<p>On 16<sup>th</sup>–22<sup>nd</sup> August, 2014 the 80<sup>th</sup> IFLA conference called “World Library and Information Congress” took place in Lyon. The congress was attended by 4,000 people from all over the world – librarians, information professionals and university researchers. A total of 227 papers were presented, including poster sessions and commercial presentations of products related to libraries and information in general. The article discusses the topics of the conference and its main conclusions.<strong></strong></p>
