Deskripsi

This article focuses on some of the main results of the project Gender, Violence and Marginalization in elementary schools and high schools in southern Guanajuato. What was found is that a high number of female students presented some types of violence by either her classmates or teachers. Gossip and insults by other women were the main types of violence detected among female students analyzed; and also insults and gossip by men stood out. Both, male and female teachers, use violence towards some students, strengthening patriarchal ideas about what a woman has to be and punishing those who do not adhere to these stereotypes. Surveys were applied by using a sample; workshop surveys and deep interviews were conducted among students and teachers.
