The article deals with political activities and creative work of Fyodor Burlatsky (1927–2014) in the period of perestroika in the USSR (1985–1991). The historical-political and political-textual analysis of Burlatsky’s works, conducted by the author on the topic under research, leads to the conclusion that Burlatsky did not only made a significant ideological contribution to perestroika in the USSR, but also was able to implement part of his proposals into practice.
